People's identity can be looked at in many different ways. Saying that country artists are smarter than rock artists is a falsehood. I choose music that best described my personality, and showed how it illustrates me as a person. I think music plays a part in everyone's life, and also reflects a person's identity. Of course the country fans are going to be wiser if the majority of their fans are between the ages of 30-50. When I listen to music I like to read the lyrics to figure out what message the artist is trying to relay to their listener. He wishes that he could just fade away, slip away from it all. There is just something in rock music that I can relate to, it's not all about relationships and breakups like country is often said to be about. The song then takes a turn, where the walls come down, and he looks into her eyes and notices the fear of losing her begins to fade. My identity in rock music shows a very similar feature to the way they express their feelings for country music it in the story. It covers a wide range of topics that everyone can relate back to some experience they may have had in their life. Their music would be put into the hard rock category.
