Love in L.A.
The character Jake in "Love in L.A." is living his life as a lie. He is in fear of being disappointed should he get on the "freeway" of life. He sticks to the side streets and lies that make up his life. Life for him is living from one untruth to the next, never setting down in to a real life of substance. As the woman writes down his license plate number Jake is not worried. "He considered giving a real phone number but went against that idea and made one up. Jake continues to ask the woman out despite her attempts to just get his information and leave. When asked if he has insurance he lies and says yes rather than telling the truth. He tries to sweet talk her and actually thinks that he might have a chance to date her. At first he things of "driving past the Toyota but was afraid the traffic ahead would make it too difficult. He stole the license plates off of a junk car. As he is sitting dreaming of this life that he has created in his mind he rams into the back of the car ahead of him.
