             Imagine women would have never gained their right to vote. Imagine women were forced to stay home while the men worked and we were never heard and never had any privileges. Well this is why the feminist movement was started and lead to the nineteenth amendment.
             The feminist movement was an event that started in the summer of 1848, and till this day women are still claiming that they didn't have enough power in society. The feminist movement changed the way society viewed woman's roles.
             On a summer day at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, in Seneca falls about three hundred or more men and women stood there for several hours to hear speeches about women's rights. This was the first time a large amount of people met to make
             equal rights a priority for women. Therefore, a group passed a Declaration of Sentiments on Friday July 20, 1848. At the time married women living in the region lost their property rights and weren't able to enter into contracts, sue in
             court or even owns their own business. This led to the 19th amendment, which was passed on August 26, 1920. This particular amendment gave American women the right to vote.
             This One lady named Elizabeth Cady Stanton started movement; she was one of the organizers of the women's rights movement Convention at Seneca Falls, New York in 1848.
