The word religion has a different meaning to different cultures. Some believe that it is a type of control and traditions passed from generation to generation. Others see it as an inspiration and emotions or rituals and worship (52). Most people use some sort of religion. It is what gives people hope and a sense of justice. Religion helps people not to fear death or gives them a sense of comfort when they lose a loved one. Most religions have a Bible that they follow. A Bible gives them rules and teaches them about their God or gods; this book is to be obeyed and followed throughout one's life. Religion has been around since the beginning of man and has given us answers to many unknown questions. Religion gives people direction in their lives and helps them with problems and challenges they face. Religion is spread worldwide and most people have some kind of religion in their life. It answers many of the difficult questions man battles with. As we know, these questions cannot be answered. This duty is because man sins against God and he has to pay for his sins or ask for forgiveness. God preserves man and aids him in his battles. Thus this is where the bible came from and other religious writings. Second it was written a long time ago and many people have rewritten it. "Mythology is used to describe a historical event and is corrupted by man or exaggerated in order to create standards of morality and admonish others to particular set of values" (Hooke, 45). It teaches us many good values we should live by and how to live our life's to fulfill a plan. Lastly, is the duty of seeking forgiveness"(Planck, 63). These help people to stay on the right path and lead them to their final peace. And third it has been translated into many different languages. We know that there are no giants and back then a giant was someone who was 6 or 7 feet tall.
