culture
Culture is different from one to another. Culture has many different areas within it such as the different forms of relationship that lead to marriage. Marriage throughout time has changed dramatically. From as early as the Industrial Revolution arranged marriages have been popular, if not a requirement. A woman's father and brother would be primary instigators of a relationship. Times have changed since the Industrial Revolution dramatically from arranged marriages to marriage of your choice. Weddings in present time revolve around falling in love and then getting married without the influence of elders. Culture deals with marriage as evolving through time and changing dramatically through time of the eighteenth century to the twentieth century.
We see an attractive person and that is what attracts us to them, and somehow we find the perfect love out of it. Love is not the main reason for marriage but it is their culture norm to have these arranged marriages. Love might not be the reason for the marriage, but it was expected to flourish later. The twentieth century is where the traditional marriage all took place and this is when the increase in divorce occurred. The women would be arranged to marry a man that her father and brothers picked out for her to marry. This is the love that leads us to marriage and the rest of our lives. This was the main reason for women to get married and this led to an increase in marriages during the nineteenth century. The traditional marriage is finding the perfect man or women and finding the perfect characteristics in this person. The men in the family would talk to different families around, and find the man that will marry their daughter or sister. By the nineteenth century, marriages were viewed as only honorable and available career for most women. During this time, there were very low paying jobs and this made it very hard for single women to survive. In the past, love and marriage could be tied and admonished men and women to love one another. Culture throughout time has changed tremendously especially in marriages. Eighteenth century during the Industrial Revolution, women had no choice of what their upcoming life would entail. This is very different than the previous centuries, finding the one you love instead of having an arranged marriage.
