             Drug abuse is prevalent in our society. It hurts our nation as a whole; however, when police are evolved, it erodes the trust that they will protect and serve. "Police corruption is a problem that has and will continue to affect us all, whether we are civilians or law enforcement officers". Since its beginnings, may aspects of policing have changed; however, one aspect that has remained relatively unchanged is the existence of corruption. "Police corruption has increased dramatically with the illegal cocaine trade, with officers acting alone or in-groups to steal money from dealers or distribute cocaine themselves". (Castaneda, Ruben. 11)
             Police corruption and drugs are topics that need to be addressed; Efforts to improve our society must first start with police. In exploring drugs and corruption, this research paper will discuss the issues of drugs, and corruption as it relates to police.
             Drugs play a negative part in every day life. It also affects the lives of many. Drugs have become widely recognized as a social and economical problem that affects society as a whole. Drugs such as heroine, cocaine, barbiturates, cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, and alcohol; are harmful. By using these types of drugs, it not only affects society but the users as well.
