Communication

Communication means a lot of things. It can be the words you speak with, the clothes you wear, the music you listen to or the people you associate with. There are "social systems" at work, at all times. All of your actions and choices are governed by whatever your system(s) dictates. This communication in the form of a written paper is a standard in society and has been for hundreds, thousands of years. Making use of that system is at the hands of the operator. There are disciplines that examine, sociology generally, the function and meaning of our social and personal communication.
Communication is a method of sharing ideas. However with so many different people and the regions which they live, communication takes on many different forms and to many different importance. When we share our ideas we want to do it in a concise and clear way. That is the impetus for us to raise our skills to new levels and create for ourselves a better understanding of the world around us. By practicing communication methods we can do three things: increase communication effectiveness, efficiency, and therefore boost the will to communicate.
Effectiveness is a term used to describe the value of our communication with others. By becoming a more effective communicator we can appeal to a wider variety of listeners. A person may know something that is real to them, by being an effective speaker they can make it real for the listener. Efficient tranfer of ideas is a way of becoming an effective speaker. Efficiency is the ability to make a point with without being too "wordy" or long winded. It could also be a disadvantage to be too brief with a listener. It is the role of the speaker to satisfy, and fulfill the needs of the listener. The speaker speaking under both of these conditions, efficiency and effectiveness, will generally be successful assuming there is the will to communicate.
