Aesthetics means the theory of taste. Is beauty only a matter of taste? A. C. Danto in my opinion believed beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I agree with this because in order to understand something like art you must know something about art. Sometimes you cannot see what those are unless you really understand art. Just because music doesn't have lyrics doesn't mean it isn't music. The picture then sold for thousands of dollars. There are many things that can be expressed through art and music. So you see, people see things in art that others may not see. For example, a few years ago a painter had a monkey just paint all over a picture with its paws. Sometimes that feeling may be sad or happy. When a person hears a piano playing for several minutes on end it may relieve some stress or sadness the listener might have built up inside. Just because what you see you may not think is art doesn't mean it isn't art. Chinese women bind there feet and in African tribes they have body piercing that they only understand. She also says that this doesn't just happen in art but happens in music also.
