Civil Rights

             Justice in the civil rights movement, did it even exist? There is much to be learned about our nations citizens during this era. The attitudes, the actions and the emotions of others were all part of this "revolution" for rights. During the civil rights movement many ideas were being introduced and a different group of people were trying to express their beliefs. America, especially the south, was really tried during that time in history and still today. While many view it as a societal achievement others see it as a disgrace. This movement resulted from the accumulated emotions of animosity, suffering and humiliation from the African American community. Today many disregard it ever happening. One may ask, "How could American's treat each other that way?" Very few are able to realize just how far we have come; however, it can also be seen differently The African Americans dreamed of a life that consisted of freedom, justice and respect.              he same country, the country that they helped fight for. In order to begin the fight the activist in the civil rights movement needed a little guidance and inspiration. There are many among the leaders of the movement to praise but two have been chosen for their opposing perspectives of this "revolution." Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were both leaders in their times but for two different reasons. They both came from very diverse religious and socioeconomic backgrounds that affected their take on the movement. Dr. King was born into a solid Christian family and found his calling as a Christian minister. Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of a Baptist preacher who later was placed in a foster home (after his father died) and became a product of the Harlem underworld consisting of crime.
