Patients are no longer willing to wait in hospital ER's for hours while waiting to be seen. Insurance companies are denying claims and asking for second opinions and are setting limits on how much they will pay for medical procedures. Hospital in this country are closing their doors every day. So, what are the countries health providers doing to help their customers and themselves.
            
             Health care has discovered the Internet and the Internet has discovered health care! A rapidly growing number of Internet sites are dedicated to helping consumers find the information they need to make decisions about their health and health care. Patients are creating online communities that provide peer support, information on the latest research, and personal stories about their experiences. Health care professionals are using the Internet for research, to get access to the latest information in their field, to consult with their colleagues, and to keep in touch with their patients. Almost every health care business, from insurer to hospital to pharmaceutical company, has a Web site.
            
             Medical Web, MD website, and Adam.com are just a few of the web companies that are providing these services to hospitals. All of the hospital's in the Louisville and southern Indiana have there own web sites to tell consumers what they have to offer. Jewish Hospital, Clark Memorial, Norton's all have web sites. They offer physician referral programs, on-line pre-registration, and the latest services they offer.
