2004 Debate
The third presidential debate was held at Arizona State University, where President Bush and Senator Kerry tackled various issues such ass jobs, healthcare, the war in Iraq, and taxes. This final debate between these candidates would prove to be the most heated out of the three. Senator Kerry immediately came out firing accusing President Bush of misguiding the war in Iraq, lost jobs at home, and millions without healthcare. Bush responded saying his "Democratic rival has a lifelong liberal bent on raising taxes and government spending." This was just the beginning of an onslaught of remarks from a well prepared Bush campaign while Kerry's party seemed to be disorganized and even dodge questions at times.Senator Kerry focused the bulk of his argument on blaming President Bush on almost everything that went wrong in this country. He started by saying Preside
If every family in America enrolled in Kerry's plan, it would cost the country an average of five trillion dollars over the next 10 years. " The President explained under Kerry's proposal it would cost the government an average of seven thousand seven hundred dollars per family. On the other hand Senator Kerry's solutions to our nation's problems sounded brilliant. Bush hesitated at first but later said it was not a choice and that we are all "gods children"Overall it seemed that President Bush dominated in almost every category that was discussed. Bush didn't seem to be bothered by Kerry's remarks on his presidency and presented himself as a man that was proud of his record and decision makings. Kerry on one side said the choice should be with "the women, god, and her doctor. Later Kerry moved on to health care, stating that five million Americans have lost their coverage during Bush's presidency. "The president has turned his back on the wellness of America, and there is no system and it's starting to fall apart," stated Kerry. The one thing they did agree on was marriage should be left to heterosexual couples, but gave different answers when asked if homosexuality was a choice. nt Bush made the country more unsafe by going into war in Iraq. He maintained a straight face and did not show many emotions during the whole debate. Kerry did just as well but Bush took it to the next level. Besides that both candidates showed a strong reason why the American people should vote for them and their party. Afterwards the two candidates tackled issues on abortion.
