The newest trend in the United States is Live Strong bracelets. These yellow synthetic silicone rubber wristbands can be spotted on the wrists of people everywhere. Both men and women, young and old from all walks of life are wearing the bracelets. Even Olympians at this summer's games wore the yellow bracelets. The bracelets represent a tribute to Lance Armstrong for his record 6th straight Tour de France title, and his battle with cancer. The yellow bands purely started as a fund raising campaign, but turned into a national fad. The money made by Nike on the bracelets goes toward research for a cure for cancer. The online seller is making nine hundred percent of the original asking price set by Nike. It shows that the supply was high and the demand was high. (E-Bay) The two graphs below show the supply and demand curves for Livestrong bracelets. Recently the demand for the product out grew the supply, therefore the supply of the product dropped. The Live Strong bracelets cost one dollar. The bracelets are sold internationally at local sporting good stores, online through e-commerce, and Nike outlets. The second graph shows the supply and demand curves from E-bay market, were the supplies are low and the demand is high.
