Coming to the United States
Propose: To show my family that I have achieved what I came to the U.S. for: better education and become a better person.In August of 1994, I rode for 24 hours by plane to visit my two older brothers, Emad and Fuad, who were living in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was my first time to travel by myself, so it wasn't an easy trip. And I was 18 years old who knew very little English. The 25-day visit was the most beautiful experience I had ever had at that time. Accompanied by my brothers, I went to Florida, Arkansas, and Minnesota. Every thing I saw or did was amazing and interesting. Some of these things are: Disney Land, Universal Studio, Mall of America, the legendary American Corn Belt, the urban areas, the interstate highway system, and many other fascinating things. But the things that I enjoyed the most were the freedom and the lifestyle that my brothers flourished on. After my parent's agreement, I decided to come back to the U.S to complete my college degree. However, I had to learn the English language and get accustom
S gave me the best opportunity to learn and experience the different aspects of life. One of my happiest moments was meeting Larissa about five years ago. She is the most respectful, generous, and caring person I have ever known. Being independent in a foreign country helped me to acquire many skills. However, the smart person who invests in these experiences and makes a better of his or her life; I believe I did. I grew up to be a high achiever; it is my way of being grateful for my good, loving, and supporting parents. I had my happy moments and sad ones too. As a matter of fact, these despicable people gave me a push to try to do better in my life. Growing up in middle class family, I had almost everything I needed. However, I always try to do everything the best I can.
