Holocaust
The Holocaust is an event that should be studied in school classes across theworld. Even though the Holocaust is an event of the past that is very sensitive and tragic itshould be studied because it is an example of dehumanization, hatred, prejudice, brutilization, and how not to treat people, how not to judge people, and how not to hatepeople. People often say that history repeats itself. If we don't study events in history likethe Holocaust then how can know what may happen in the future, or how will we knowhow to prevent it from happening again? It is also important for not only Jews, butGentiles as well, to study the Holocaust so that they will know and realize what kind of astruggle and circumstances our ancestors and forefathers had to go through to make ourlives and futures better than theirs had to be. My knowledge of the Holocaust before studying it was very small. All I knewabout the Holocaust was that, it was an event in history where Jewish people were killedby a man named Adolf Hitler. I didn't know how cruel and merciless he was. I didn'tknow that Jews were considered less than human, and I didn't even know when or where By visiting the Holocaust museum in Detroit, MI I learned several di
One of which was a male and the other was a female. I have never had to go longer than a couple ofhours without a meal if I don't want to, I have never been tortured or beaten for noreason, I always have a pair of shoes to wear on my feet, I have never had watch anotherhuman being die, I always have a restroom to go to, to control my bodily functions Ihaven't had to do or go through half as many things as some Holocaust survivors did, butsometimes I complain. Some thought he just wanted to profit fromsaving the Jews and others thought that he was a hero. What I didn't understandwsa the reason why. I know now that I shouldn't complain about anything and bethankful for the things I have and even don't have because some people don't even havewhat I do. Despite the fact that he saved millions of livesdifferent people had different views of him. I might grow up and havechildren one day. Instead of teaching them how to hate I will teach them how to love. I know that Inor anyone else shouldn't hate another person for any reason. Ithink I can use this knowledge in the future to help me make good decisions. In the future instead ofbeing so upset or angry with a person and getting revenge I will think about my actionsbefore I carry them out and make the right decisions. Insteadof teaching them how to be mean I will teach them to be nice. I saw clippings of newspaper articles that weren't even one fourth of a page long saying"2 million Jews killed in Germany" or something to that nature. This knowledge will help me to think about themean or hurtful things I am doing or about to do.
