100 years war

During the Hundred Years’ War, there was poverty, death, famine, and harder times ahead. High prices hindered everybody. The rich people became poor and the poor people became poorer. The way of living had to be hard at that time. Living without anything has to be the worst.

City folk cried throughout the night because of the rising prices. Food was scarce, prices were extravagant. You just had to make best of your situation. And the standard of living was very low. But I guess that the food situation got so bad that when spring time came around, everybody who made drinks from apples and sole plums dumped the residue of the fruits into the street for the pigs to eat. Animals with no food dug up deceased bodies to eat.

The Hundred Years’ War caused more harm than good. This horrible situation became worse from day to day, and the war was doing more harm than good. Just imagine there being no food and you and your family have to eat not even the leftovers but the residue of fruit.

The winter was the worst that they have had in the past forty-years. The pigs never got to the fruit, the starving people of the city ate it with great relish. “Regular” people had it tough during this time.
