ADVERTISEMENT MEANING

As it is known today, advertisements are parts of our daily lives since in every magazine and newspaper we read we came across with plenty of them. Almost one or two pages in an ordinary magazine are advertisements. These advertisements are sometimes related with something out of the content of the magazine. The main idea is what is the main object in these ads and how are they combined with the content of that product advertisement.Throughout the examination of the three advertisements, which are given, the main idea, the main object is sex. Sex as a theme is mostly applied on these three advertisements. Although, especially two of them do not have anything to do with sex. The first two advertisements are about two alcoholic drinks, Kahlua and Skyy Vodka. And the last advertisement is about leather clothing. However the common point in each of these is sexual human images. By using the sex as a theme in these advertisements the companies aim to reach the consumers from three main ways. The first way is to provide the emotional appeal. The second way is to maintain the commercial with the targeted consumers. For instance, the sexy woman in the first ad combined with the vodka, besides the prohibited relationship between the woman and the man is represented by the two glasses of vodka which are handled by both figures. By this way the producers will provide their products being fancy and admirable to the consumers. Finally, as it is mentioned in the beginning, the three ways of reaching the consumers are applied in these three ads. What else would they be in bedroom of this sexy woman, and the second and which is again about an alcoholic drink, Kahlua has a woman again very sexy. This time the consumers faced with a handsome black guy. The consumers are affected by this scene and this product will have a special place in their minds, especially in the minds of the people whom would like to live an adventure like that. In contradiction to this idea and to the both ads which are just about the white race and the third ad has a black man. And in order to achieve this aim they applied the human figures very well in these three ads. "(73-74)First of all, the emotional appeal which is wanted to be provided by these companies. Besides the adultery which is implemented by the standing man concerns the passionate people whom have these sort of relations and more over the very wide range of targeted consumers. The anti racists and those who are black is very wide spread target area for the producers as well. However this drink is offered with a special mixture as if it is the mixture of happiness, a recipe to happiness. The man is admirable can be easily an ideal for the consumers. Besides the range of these targeted consumers is quite wide since, female, male, homosexuals and adults are the main targets of these products.
