music censorship

Wal-Mart can be associated with Censorship as far as music is concerned because it goes against the morals of a democratic society. It is basically undemocratic because it limits freedom of expression/speech and allows to dictate what the many may or may not listen to. For example, removing a controversial Album from circulation in Wal-Mart, for whatever reason, cuts its Interpreter off from a huge amount of fans who have no other way to access the CD. At the same time, Wal-Mart who decide to pull the CD's off the shelf is, in effect, are advising the parents that their children may not listen to this CD. They tell the record industry what they don't like, and the industry manufactures "special clean" versions for sale by Wal-Mart versions which are then resold to other wholesalers. These actions, therefore, are more in keeping with a "dictatorship" than a democracy and can be described as pure censorship.Wal-Mart's Music Censorship should be eliminated because as free citizens WE should be able to choose what we can or cannot do

Parents have to take responsibility for the kind of music their children listen to by declaring Wal-Marts music censorship laws unconstitutional. In recent years, the same type of people who encourage music censorship took up the issue of obscene art. It is quite obvious that putting restrictions on what the "free" people of the US can or cannot do causes unrest, which would seem to be undesirable for Wal-Mart. These necessary rights are what supports to characterize the United States as a free country. By abolishing Wal-Marts music censorship, America will get back the right to say that our government upholds its laws and protects the rights of its citizens. And last but not least censorship of the arts has been overcome in the past. Music censorship hinder parents from making personal judgments about what their kids listen to and reduce the role of parental care and power in children's lives. The "principle" that applies here is the old saying "leave well enough alone," a notion that Wal-Mart surely decides on to ignore. Various painters and sculptors were in effect, attacked because particular types of art were seen as pornographic. The music! of today is different from the music of ancient times, but only because of the age. This reasoning should be used to music censorship. Hence, Wal-Mart lessens its role as a protector of children and allows the parents of America to reclaim their position as guardian of their kid. In the US, parents and children alike face issues every day. There are problems both at school and work that tear away at the parent and child relationship; an appearance of our community that needs fortification rather than further deterioration. Nonetheless, this issue has been accepted for the most part because it was reckoned that the art in questioned was no different from other art previously exploited.
