Professional Football is the great game that changed America. This game is the game that the Americans started and other continents followed. This sport has one league, which is known as the NFL (National Football League). The NFL has to conferences one is The NFC (National Football Conference), and The AFC (American Football Conference). Then these conferences are made into divisions, which consist of the NFC East, Central, and West. In the AFC it is also the East, Central, and West. The NFL has an offense, defense and special teams. The NFL in the 1970's consisted of a lot of great players, and one of them was Joe Nameth. Joe Nameth was a Quarter Back for the New York Jets (Thorn120). This young Quarter Back quickly picked up a nickname, which was "Broadway Joe" (Thorn122). In 1967 Joe Nameth threw for a record of passing yards, which was 4,007 yards (Thorn122).
