Its tiem for me to go

Its time for me to go "Who doesn't know what I'm talking about, who's never left home who's never struck out, to find a dream and a life of their own, a place in the clouds a foundation of stone. Many precede and many will follow, a young girl's dream no longer hollow. It takes a shape of a place out west, but what it holds for her she hasn't yet guessed. She needs.... wide open spaces, room to make some big mistakes, she needs new faces she knows the highest stakes. She traveled this road as a child, wide eyed and grinning she never tired. But now she wont be coming back with the rest, if these are life's lessons she'll take this test." If one paragraph or a few short sentences could sum up my feelings for the past few years it would be just that. "She needs wide open spaces" A hit song by the Dixie Chicks, compelling feelings and aspirations to get out on your own, to be totally independent and get away. To walk away from the everyday life and environment you have grown to adapt yourself to. Although stakes being high, in reference to leaving family and friends, it will be well worth the possible disappointment that may follow. How important is it to leave your hometown, your friends,

There was always my mother to wake me up for school on time, and to provide me with lunch money. March 2000 of my senior year and the response letters from colleges I choose to apply for were coming in. Nevertheless, like it usually does, the "new" wore off and the Miami Middletown image was faded from a good time to a version of generic high school hell. I remember sitting in the Lobby of Johnston Hall with my friend Casey while he filled out his 'personality profile' to be matched up with his soon to be roommate. My first month at Miami Middletown was fabulous, although still residing at home. Clear sky's filled with more stars than ever imagined, warm weather, palm trees, mountains and the beautiful horizon in every direction. She was always there to help me with my homework (until I reached about eighth grade and even she didn't have a clue) and of course, to put me back in line when she thought I was out of it. As awful as it may all sound, I fantasized about this life as soon as I entered my sophomore year and still long for it all now. Looking back now, it makes me wonder if they had ever actually been to college themselves. My classes were fun, I was really enjoying them and most of all I made some great friends. If it were not for two very close friends I had made at Miami Middletown, I would have never attended Middletown again. Like most of my peers, high school was of course held to be this special, sentimental enchantment. To get away from everything you know and build a new life of your own while pursuing a college education anywhere that is no less then a 60 mile radius from our hometown. To make matters worse I needed 20 credit hours to transfer to the main campus of Miami in Oxford, which I didn't have at the end of the first semester.
