There is a place up in Monte Cristo canyon that I like to call "the ponds". Off of a dirt road there is a narrow canyon just small enough to fit a small stream and a series of ponds. I go to "the ponds" to fish, but most of the time it is really to just get away.The sounds heard are unique to anywhere I have ever been. Lush pine trees and green shrubs cover the canyon walls. The Canyon wall are constantly blanketed in mysterious shadows. like they are talking to each other. The stream is shallow and so narrow you could step over it. The vegetation is thick and has the hint of an upcoming summer. The most peaceful sounds are that of the cool canyon breeze that blows through the floor of the canyon, and a faint, yet distinct, trickle of the water moving down through the beaver dams from one pond to the next. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**Hindel, mark T, penednet pub. Its quiet and gives me time to think, it's is also great fishing. The cool stream winds its way through the green bushes and the rocky shore. Inside the canyon the only sign of civilization is a small dirt road that come to a dead end in a grove of trees. Often times I sneak away to "the ponds" by myself, and my friends and family think it is kind of strange. Due to the steep grade of the Rocky canyon walls the hours of direct sunlight are limited.
