Exemplification Essay

What size is right? What size is wrong? I ponder these questions everyday, as some people do too. Why today in our society is everyone so judgmental and so concerned about being thin, in shape and perfect? If we are supposed to look like models we would. But we do not, we are all different, we are all special, in our own ways. God made us all different for a purpose, and if he wanted us to be perfect, we would be. In recent history, the idea of feminine beauty has been shifting towards a less healthy, overly thin model. More than 25,000 years ago when humans first evolved, women exaggerated their reproductive organs, like breasts and hips, using fertility symbols. Slim woman were not considered beautiful because they could not afford enough food to keep their body full and healthy. I think that in today's world we are judged too harshly about our looks. People, mostly women and young girls are told their supposed to be pretty and petite. I know that growing up I never wanted to be heavy, I always wanted to be the perfect size, and look like all the beautiful models in the fashion magazin

Then they start to become too think, concerned comments like "are you losing weight?" may actually be taken as a compliment by anorexic victims because they have brainwashed themselves and now have the mindset to be as think as they can. You look around and see these so called "perfect" bodies, when in reality, million of women, including me, are not built that way. This makes women and young girls think they are not in good shape. Hutson 3 The reason anorexia nervosa has the highest death rate is because it can be kept a secret, until it is almost too late. Counselors and psychiatrists are good sources of information, along with support groups. Women posing for these magazines are very tall, and have a very straight body. When victims start to become anorexic the people around them might compliment them because they've "lost a little weight and look good". Not the size of a normal average woman. If women do not get the help they need, a life could be lost. But there are some people who go to the extreme to be perfect anyways. Too many women have lost their lives already. Every woman you see in these fashion magazines is a size zero, or a size two. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. Anorexic victims develop a sort of mind warping view of themselves.
