child labor
With reference to our verbal discussion regarding the preparation of a report on the moral aspects of the child labor situation in Bozarkia on July 10th, my findings include the Information from a reliable source and my personal observations:· The labor laws in Bozarkia are highly lax.· There are no prohibitions on demanding physical work by children.· There are no age limits imposed on child workers, and adolescents as young as seven are observed working long hours.· The Glotz factory makes clothes out of fabrics, which are actually produced at a satellite factory - by children who are sometimes expected to work up to twelve hours per day, six days per week.· It has been brought to my notice that despite being aware of the inhuman treatment of children, the Glotz factory does nothing to rectify the same.Besides the horrifying situation that I myself observed at the company sites, I also found some startling fact abut the country's economy and labor structure. These include that:o The Bozarkian economy needs child labor. It is the only way the Bozarkians will ever enter the global economy is if they can compete against other nations by offering lower-priced labor. o If Bozarkian children don't work, some of their famili
S No child shall be forced to do a task, which may have a negative impact on his health or may prove injurious or fatal. S Children should receive proper remuneration for their services. · No child should be allowed to work unless he is of the acceptable age limit, which may vary from 12-14 years in most countries. They should not be underpaid and overworked. o And if Bozarkians don't employ children, other countries that do will win out against them economically Conclusion:It is the growing responsibility of a business entity to ensure that all its activities revolve around business ethics, which translates into honest policies, fair wages and equal opportunities for growth of every employee. S There should be regular checkups and a clean certificate of health should be provided to each child only after which, he/she should be allowed to continue employment. All the companies who do business with the firm should unanimously put down these conditions. However I suggest that in order to continue working with children, certain laws or conditions should be laid down to protect the interest and health of the minor community. · No child should have to work for more than 6 hours in a day· Proper intervals or breaks should be provided to provide relaxationS Proper sanitation and working environment should be available. S A committee should be set up to ensure that all the conditions are strictly complied with. In Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand, children of less than 15 rarely work except in commercial agriculture, because of the effective enforcement of laws passed in the first half of the 20th century. They should operate for profit but should give equal importance to the welfare and well being of the people who help them earn these profits. Recommendations:After thorough analysis of the situation and the economy at large I would like to present the following recommendations:We cannot compel the Glotz Factory to completely give up on child labor since it would be a huge drawback on their economy and cost of production would rise immensely owing to higher labor costs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. I hope that my report would provide a clearer understanding of the current scenario at the Glotz factory in Bozarkia.
