harry truman
I have yet to learn about a more blue collar worker than Harry Truman. He was one of few presidents with honest morals and that is very hard to find in politicians and in no way was he ever greedy or selfish. His power was never used for his own benefits, unlike his first boss Tom Pendergast. When he did something, he did it to help his community or in the case of his being president he did them for all of America. He wasn't brought up on luxury, private schools or catering all his life either which greatly adds to his respectful character. Never able to use his social standards to advance himself or to make himself money. Another thing that I admire about Harry Truman is that all of the people around him were those kind of people that would use their power and the peoples expenses for their advantages. This never corrupted him and he always stayed true to his beliefs, his ways or their was no way he would be involved. His honesty and his hard work earned him the resp!ect of millions of people throughout his life.
After Roosevelt's sudden death the responsibility of the American people in the war became his, and it was not like he was ready or it what so ever. To add to his dedication he married his little girl friend from the 4th grade!! A surprise to most he was never tempted to leave her and she supported him through thick and thin. Ever further his Secretary of State proposed the Marshal Plan, which would provide funds for the reconstruction of struggling European nations, who at this time were in serious crisis. One thing I did want to find out but didn't was why he was never enrolled in any schools. His wife was there for him so he felt it very wrong to mis treat or cheat in anyway at all. In order to save more American lives he felt it necessary to drop the bomb on Japan and kill millions more in a short period of time. When even his best friends would go out to have fun and invite a few women over for drinks Harry would strongly oppose the idea. The main reason though, why I like Harry Truman, is because he was self educated and also because when his businesses failed or farming failed for him he didn't give up and he was always learning from his mistakes. " In his decision of dropping the atomic bomb he had to consider many things, his main concern, was always the American people and why should it change in a situation of war. It was an incomparable decision when it comes to presidents who had the most nobility in my opinion. With no high school or college education he was able to teach himself things that would take some of us years to learn. If he was so interested in all of the different things he could learn why wouldn't he want to be educated, or was it because he was so stubborn that he felt there wasn't anything, anybody could teach him that he couldn't learn on his own simple by reading a book. He stated after being informed of the news that, "I feel like the moon, the stars, and all of the planets have fallen down upon me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. Even after the war his efforts did not deplete a drop.
