Legalization of Cannabis
The natural plant, Cannabis, has over twenty five thousand uses, for exampleeverything from construction materials to paper to clothing. Besides thesematerials it also has other uses such as medicinal and relaxation or recreationalpurposes. Unfortunately, in the United States we are not allowed to use thisplant of many advantages because our government has cannabis listed as acontrolled substance that is punishable by law to have in ones possession. Thisnaturally growing plant, which has been used since around the beginning ofcivilization up until 1937, is now illegal to grow, distribute, or use because asmall part of it can be smoked to obtain a state ofintoxication.(http://www.natlnorml.org/medical/index.shtml) Although this is onlyone use of cannabis it is one of the most prevalent in the United States eventhough it is outlawed and serious penalties are given to those caught. TheUnited States government has declared a massive war against this substanceand many other drugs which is commonly referred to as the "Drug War". Thiswar has been extremely expensive and largely unsuccessful and has onlyslightly slowed the flow of it onto U.S. soil. Although many citizen's and officials
