Are Parents Involved Enough in Their Child's EducationChildren today are motivated and influenced by positive role models in their lives. Whether their role model is a super-hero on Television, a favorite teacher, or a parent, children usually have someone that they learn from, and look up to. Today it is becoming more likely for children to look up to someone they see on Television, or someone from a movie. Parents should look at this and see that our children need a more substantial and physical role model, someone that a child can actually have a conversation with, rather than wish they could. Although sometimes figures on Television or in movies can play some positive roles in all of our lives, it is usually more educational to learn from a real-life situation. As a parent, you must be a living example of what you expect your children to honor and emulate (Bennett, 29). Parental involvement in a child's life begins in the home, and it begins the moment a parent decides it begins. When a child is played with, spoken to, read to, or is interacting with an adult or parent, the learning process begins.
