First of all, manic depression has two main causes physiological and psychological. The most numerous of these causes would be physiological causes. For example, childbirth is such a happy event that many people do not think that it would cause something like manic depression to occur. More expectedly, death causes a large number of cases that deal with manic depression. Death is a torn issue when deciding if it is a physiological or psychological cause. Manic depression is said to result from a physical death, but how a person’s mind reacts

The hardest part about diagnosing manic depression is recognizing the symptoms. Similarly, they may not concentrate well or be able to make easy decisions. Likewise, they could have very bad judgment and be very easy to distract. They may become socially withdrawn or have recurring thought of suicide and death. This is good because there are many types of medications to choose from. Medication is used first to help with the more severe symptoms. Or, for example, simple social differences from friends to cultural differences or small put-downs constantly over time. Last, interpersonal therapy, teaches patients to keep sleep-wake cycles in sync with reality (psycom). The range of physiologic causes is a very wide one. The second leading type of causes is much easier to explain, which are psychological abnormalities, such as a chemical imbalance in the brain. Also, they may lose all interest in usual activities that were enjoyed before. Another symptom could be a higher importance of themselves. It robs many people of their lives including those who do not have the disease but are affected by people who do.
With all of the symptoms one can see a need for a treatment.
