How do you think dinosaurs died? Was it because of an asteroid hitting the Earth or maybe a food shortage? Death and Devastation are far more frequent from deep inside the Earth. An example of this is a volcano. There are more than 3,000 active volcanoes in the world. The most destructive volcano occurred 251 million years ago it’s lava flow covered about a million square miles which is now Siberia and destroyed most of life there as well. A volcano is an opening in the Earth's crust through which molten lava, ash, and gases are ejected. Tens of thousands of people are killed each century by volcanoes, whether from the ash, lethal gases, or the lava itself. Other ways that volcanoes kill is from clouds of hot ash, flying rocks, mud flows, tidal waves, and collapsing roofs. Each year about 60 volcanoes erupt. Not only
. . .
An example of an underwater volcano that created an island or piece of land is the state Hawaii. the people who live by volcanoes die from eruptions, but the scientists studying them die too. I think this article will make a big impact on everyone who reads it. Another debate in the volcano world is whether the government’s money should be spent on monitoring volcanoes and preventing volcanoes. Geological survey listed 15 volcanoes that are currently erupting or threatening to erupt. They should have had this article at those 15 places where “The World’s Most Active Volcanoes” are.

. I don’t think that they should monitor to their full extent but enough to monitor so they can tell when a volcano will erupt. Although, I think this article should have been in all newspapers where volcanoes are located. Some geologists say that early Earth was made of mountains formed from lava. I think that scientists should monitor volcanoes but not use so much money. That is why this article is newsworthy. People argue whether they should spend the money on volcanoes and risk scientist’s lives or risk the people’s lives by not monitoring volcanoes.
