             There is a close, but often misleading relationship between Judaism and Christianity. The discrepancies are great, however, there are many similarities, many because Christianity emerged from Judaism. It is wrong to assume that Christianity as a whole is seen as the natural progression of Judaism.
             The most distinct contribution of Judaism to Christianity was the religious thought of monotheism, the idea that there is only one God. “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:2,3). As Judaism understood this, God could not be made up of multiple united parts. The Christian notion of trinitarianism is that God is made up of the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Although called monotheistic because, by divine force, the three parts are one God, this view is incompatible with the Jewish view that a division is not possible. Judaism believes there is one ultimate, undivided God. God is the creator of all that we like and don’t like. There is no force with the creative ability equivalent to God. Thus, Judaism sees Christianity’s trinitarianism as weakening God. Jews see dividing God as an attempt to compromise with pagan !
             concept of man, not the Son of God. Jesus, a man, cannot save soul, only God can. For the same reason, he did not ride from the dead.
             For Jews his ability to atone sins was also questionable. Sins were by seeking forgiveness from God and from the people whom were sinned against. Jews did not see Jesus as the Messiah. Judaism’s view of the messiah is a human being who will usher in an era of peace. “Hope, national restitution, and world upgrade”, thus, is the idea of messiah. Jesus’ time on Earth clearly did not show any signs of this.
