Dangers of Cloning Humans
The Dangers and Ethical Issues of Cloning Human BeingsThe beauty of human life is a magnificent and mysterious phenomenon that brings upon the birth of a unique individual brought forth by the love of the child's parents. It is a time that calls for celebration and social gathering. It is a time to reflect upon, and be thankful for, the gift of a unique individual that has been bestowed upon the family. This newly born child is one of a kind with no other beings like it. Its characteristics, intelligence, and personality cannot be duplicated by any natural genetic means. Each human being holds the exact same characteristics: uniqueness, distinctiveness, and individualism. Why then would we be willing to hinder our uniqueness, and defy the theory of evolution and natural selection to test the limits of biomedical technology? It seems absurd that we, as humans, the most intelligent living species on the face of the Earth, would want to even consider the idea of taking life into our own hands, rather than letting things happen naturally. Somatic cell nuclear transfer cloning does exactly that. It allows scientist and researchers to duplicate a human's chromosomes and produce an exact replica of an existing human being
Each caste represents the member's intelligence and attractiveness, with Alpha being ranked the highest. There could be severe consequences if the technology is abused and used for destructive purposes. The result is thousands of people who are alike who are each born, and separated, into different caste (Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, Gamma, etc. In fact, Congress passed a bill called "The Cloning Prohibition Act of 1997", which the President announced would "outlaw the use of somatic cell nuclear transfer with the intent of implanting the resulting embryo in a woman's womb or creating a child in any other fashion" (Science & Technology in Congress, para. The idea that technology allows us to duplicate the chromosomes of a human being is fascinating and exciting. To put a human being through that much trauma without even knowing the outcome is meaningless and illogical with uncertain consequences. Furthermore, the child being reproduced could face abnormalities and deformities that could hamper that child's ability live and fully enjoy a normal and healthy life. In the book, the characters have no knowledge of the outside world, and live according to their predestined lifestyle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. For example, Gamma, being on of the lowest-ranked class, are often janitors or other types of industrial workers. Cloning would deprive a child of individuality and uniqueness, and thus, may not be welcomed as a member of society as a naturally born child. Even if the technology does become safe, it would be dangerous to put a human's life at risk for an experiment that could permanently affect them physically, mentally, and emotionally. The idea that this scenario could possibly become reality is frightening.
