The death penalty has been one of the nation?s most controversial issues. Those who favor the death penalty should realize that by execution the criminal is not given anytime to reflect on their mistake. People should not be sentenced to die since the reasons for executing someone are not strong enough to absolutely persuade everyone. Those who favor the death penalty believe that criminals who have committed murder deserve to die because they use up the precious taxpayers money. However there is no doubt that someone can do more alive than dead. By working, the criminal can pay back society and also their victim and the victim?s family. First of all, the offender should be required to compensate the victim?s family with the offender?s own income from employment or community service.
