Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Everybody has experienced some sort of anxiety in there life. Anxiety is a total normal thing and is experienced daily. But when you have consistent anxiety you should start to worry. Anxiety is a reaction to stressful situations that helps rather than hinders daily functions. If we didn’t have anxiety we wouldn’t be motivated to do certain things in life that could be a good accomplishment or help us out. Anxiety Disorder is defined as the occurrence of anxiety without obvious external cause, intruding on daily functioning. Now I will discuss Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is the experience of long-term anxiety with no explanation. Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder come from six major systems of the body. They include the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. The most likely symptoms that occur are raised blood pressure, “butterflies” in the stomach, hyperventilation, trembling of the body and felling “on edge.”

In the medical model it is thought that this disorder is genetic. It is believed that anxiety is a learned response. It relates directly to the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin. My advice would be to anyone who has it to face your worries head on and relax. perspectives on the causes of anxiety disorders. I was always so worried about what people would think of me. Meditation, yoga, and/or massage can help tremendously. I did get sick before I did my acts, but I still got up there and focused on my singing and made it through each time. The behavioral model suggests that the causes come from environmental factors. But I finally had enough of not having control of my life. So I am going to live day by day and not worry about petty little things in life. Any time anything remotely upsetting happened I would get to the point where I got sick.

A real life case study that I could talk about could be myself. Anytime I would go anywhere or be in a situation where there was a potential for me to get in trouble I would get sick to my stomach and have to go home.
