             Comparing the Major Political Parties and the Election 2000 Candidates
             In this report, I will be talking about the two major political parties-the Republican and the Democratic party. I will be comparing and contrasting the differences of the two parties and their basic beliefs. Later on in this report, I will explore different campaign issues between Vice President Al Gore, and Governor George Bush, the election 2000 candidates. My summary will be my discussion on the two different candidates and whether or not their beliefs are true to the parties they represent.
             -Believes the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
             -Believes in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
             -Believe that free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
             -Believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
             -Believe the proper role of the government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that which governs least.
             -Believe that the most effective, responsible and responsive government is the closest to the people.
             -Believe Americans must retain the principals that made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
             -Believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating those ideas into positive and successful principles of government. (Internet Republican Credo)
