Human Cloning

             HUMAN CLONING

As technology continues to advance, new breakthroughs are discovered. With these new developments,

serious ethical and moral questions arise. Though there are many advantages of cloning, many religions do not agree

with it. Many people say that we should not try to interfere with nature, and that cloning humans is 'playing God'. I

think that cloning an entire human is taking away their individual personality and uniqueness. Some may question if

the disadvantages of cloning outweigh the advantages. The major problems with human cloning is whether or not it

will be accepted into today's society, and the effect it will have on the future population.

The question is, is there much more positive outcomes than there are negative?

Organ cloning is something that would be extremely beneficial to society. For example, if a young child is about to

die because of a failing heart, he/she could strongly benefit from a cloned liver. Or if there are several heart donors for

the child, but none of them are suitable for the child. If the child's heart can be cloned, then it may get a second

chance at living. In the same way that cloning can be beneficial, it can also bring harm if too many humans are cloned

to be the same. This new population could risk being prone to the same diseases, and they could all die from this

disease; for example AIDS. Another advantage of cloning is to have the power to change a person's genes and

eliminate hereditary diseases such as cystic fibrosis. A disadvantage of cloning is that suppose in the future, everyone

is cloned, and there is only a small population of humans left who are not cloned. There is a chance that this natural

population might face alienation because they are different. Also, many religions may not favour cloning and may

strongly think that it is morally wrong. Parents may end up being pressured to abort their abnormal babies...
