This is a timeline of the more severe terrorist attacks on the United States and the American people from 1920 through 2001.
             More than 25 years ago, despite several terroristic attacks on the United States over the past century, terrorists and terroristic threats simply were not a publicized issue. After September 11, 2001, the matter of terrorists and attacks on America became not only a reality, but a dinner table topic as well. American people, with their newfound terror, were bordering insanity, grasping at any length for some impression of safety in their homes.
             Unfortunately, the panic subsided. Aside from the distressing ceremony held at ground zero on its anniversary every year, the American people have once again returned to their lives as though September 11 never happened. I am here to tell you that another attack is inevitable. Being prepared for the occasion is what could save your life.
             Terrorist attacks can happen to anyone, anywhere. Imagine being cornered in a store in a mall by a gunman targeting innocent people for no apparent reason. Try and picture being the victim of a serious bomb threat either at your place of work or school. Better yet, imagine being a passenger on a hijacked plane with no hope of returning to the ground alive. These incidents can happen and do happen to people just like you more often than you think.
             Preparing yourself and your family can not only minimize the effects of a terrorist attack, but can also mean the difference between life and death. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, there are several steps that can be taken to better prepare for an incident.
