Casinos satire
While driving down the long stretch of the sixty freeway, any person can notice the huge- bright billboards flashing high in the sky, catching the attention of any possible gamblers trying to strike it rich. Gigantic signs with "CASINO" written in huge bold letters telling motorists that they could win the thousand-dollar jackpot, pulling almost every automobile over to lose a wallet of money. Many people and local property owners discourage the operations of Indian Gaming Facilities. I firmly stand with people and discourage the Indian Casinos due to the problems being cause by the atmosphere of the Casinos and I put down the owners of these facilities because of their belief that they are above the law just because they were able to build such worthless facilities. They have no right to depend on these beasts to support the Native families and their future to come. Many members of Indian Tribes discourage the operation of Indian Gaming Facil
Also, along with many job opportunities some severe problems erupted with the building of these facilities. But many Natives are wondering where the heck is it all? According to William Safire of the New York Times, he exclaims "Casino gambling will help the average Indian as much as the New York State Lottery has provided great new facilities for the average schoolchild. The children are being raised against the standards of their family heritage and becoming mentally confused with the commotion that these Casinos are bringing. ities all across our nation due to the breaking up of many tribes. But as more and more Casinos rise on the Native's land more and more problems are becoming clearer to the public and less people are standing with the construction of these moneys makers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**none. Just because the operators of these monster facilities are bringing in the money, the tribe leaders should never be overlooked and forgotten. And what else can the supporters and owners of these Casinos blame it on? Another pro that the Indian Gaming Facilities claim they bring to the Indian Nations is money and great new school facilities to the public. And the great benefit of gambling profits to the public has always been a sham. Some severe problems that have correlated into social issues are those of suicide, high drop out rates, alcohol and drug abuse, and tribal government corruption. Children of many Indian Tribes are being raised to understand they should admire tribal leaders who are running these Casinos instead of admiring the great figures and heroes of the tribe such as Sitting Bull, Geronimo, and Chief Joseph. So as the Indian Gaming Facilities continue to be built in each state, more and more people are asking the question: Are these Casinos in any way contributing to anyone? I believe the Casinos are basically only good for one sole purpose and that is to give the opportunity to people who can't travel very far to have some fun and for people who are not quite the age of twenty-one an experience to gamble just like the sharks in Las Vegas. In Minnesota, Casinos created over ten thousand jobs, but, one bad thing at least for the Natives, is that roughly about seventy-two percent of Casino jobs are occupied by non - Natives. This percent at least should be more equaled out to give the Natives jobs and opportunities. Another reason why Indian Casinos might make you want them to stay in function is because they claim to bring many job opportunities to the Natives.
