A trouble maker

             My best friend John and I loved talking about cars. Unfortunately, we were still fourteen years old and therefore we didn't have a driving licence. I do remember going out with John and his father once in their nice white car. It had been a beautiful day and John's father took us out to a not so busy road. Then he taught us the basics – how to press the gas, how to lower the hand-break, and so on. Anyway, we had a great time! After that, me and John just couldn't wait until we got our own cars. We were still four years away from our 18th birthday and that was a long time to wait. So maybe that's why we did what we did.
             One day John came next to me in class and whispered that he had a plan. I curiously asked him what his plan was. He was going to 'borrow' his father's car keys! At first I thought he was crazy! If he were caught, I was sure that he would be in deep trouble. But the risk was worth it and I agreed. After all, we wouldn't stay out too long and we would drive in the countryside and not the busy city. No one would ever know. So the following Sunday, John took his father's keys whilst he was sleeping. Then we quickly ran to the car, put our seat-belts on and away we went. We had decided that John would drive to the country and I would drive back. That way we'd take turns. Well, John hadn't been driving for longer that fifteen minutes when all of a sudden, he lost control of the steering wheel and we felt a big bump under the car. John quickly stopped the car and pulled up the hand-break. We stepped out of the car. Oh no! We had a flat tyre. How were we going to repair that? We found the spare in the trunk of the car. It was so heavy to lift and carry. After two hours of hard work, we finally managed to change it. In the end, we were both hot, tired and thirsty. I was starting to hate this idea.
