Topic: Identity and culture are clearly intertwined. How has your experience of culture influenced the development of your own personal identity? It was a rainy day. The storm caused turbulence. The plane was very shaky and we dropped one hundred feet of altitude in five seconds. Then all of a sudden, it stabilized. The lights shot back on and there I was with my family. The plane had evaded the storm and we were safe at last. We can finally go home. I can finally go back to my home. My two-month visit to China over the summer has really enlightened me about my own culture. I was never sure where I stood. I care about being America


Why math? I guess my parents raised me that way. I'm back in New York City, ready for something even worse than turbulence. On my way to homeroom, I greeted most of my Asian friends passing by.
