This year's team displays the same heart and courage as their head coach, Chris Johnson does when he is on the sidelines coaching. The players reflect his will to win and his undeniable fighting spirit. This team is empowered by an impressive attack line that consists of James Kole, Chris Rajano and junior standout, Brian Giuffra. This group of three should produce many goals and assissts. According to co-captain Chris Rajano, "We'll trigger the most fast breaks in the state."
             On this day, the Mounties faced a tough and upcoming Bergen Catholic. With a steady goalie play and undaunted defense, Bergen Catholic would show the Montclair Lacrosse program that they're not just a football powerhouse. The game started off with Craig Bacci taking the face off in stride and dishing the play to Rajano, who settled the team and began to initiate the offense. From that moment on, the Mounties took control with Steve Lovecchio netting two goals and fellow senior/midfielder, Craig Bacci, scoring one. "The attack line played stupendous all day. We were just feeling it." said Brian Guiffra. With two goals apiece from him and James Kole, the game came to route with the final score being 15-8.
             "The defense is what got us through the game." said junior/midfielder, Tim Higgins. With holes to fill on this year's team, a number of players have stepped up to defense. The list includes James Joyce, Brien Goodman and senior/standout, Joe Di Napoli. Most people doubted this year's team would return to those glory days of Trevenen to Perno. However, Coach Johnson has found a way to pull it all together in the nick of time.
             The next game for the Boys' Lacrosse team is against a good Summit team that will give the Mounties all they could handle. However, in the end, the more creative and intelligent Montclair team will have found a way to start another season off a perfect, 2-0. T...
