geometry

This was my favorite portfolio. Mainly because I picked things I liked and I had fun making them. The first thing I made was a chess puzzle. This shows reason; using logic is a big part of geometry. The next project I made was cutting out pictures of things that were symmetrical and things that weren't symmetrical. This showed symmetry in everyday life. The next project was a deck of playing cards with optical illusions. Many of the optical illusions show many geometric concepts, and will be explained later.
My first chess puzzle is my favorite. In example on you have lost of choices because chess is a game of choices. Can you find the right one? I'll wait. Come on Mr. Meyer's you should have found it by now. O.K. I'll give you a hint, use the knight. Yeah! Move it to c6. Now the pawn has to take you or the opponent moves his king. Now just more your rook on a4 over to a2 (or if he moved his queen just take the rook.) And now take the queen with his rook. Although this problem didn't have many choices I thought this was a cool checkmate. But if you did anything else besides the knight you would have lost the game. Now in example two lets examine the board. Pieces are about the same number in amount. You could try the knight. No, of coarse not! Ha ha ha bad moo, silly Mr. Meyers what were you thinking I would have the same example as the last. No. Any other moves you see. SACRIFICE YOUR QUEEN! Huh? Really? Should you do it? Go ahead, ahh good moo Mr. Meyers. The king takes the qu!
een, then you move your rook over then the opponent we wont mention any body, (Cliff) moves his bishop jut in the way for you to take it with your rook. Ahhh checkmate, Good game Mr. Meyers hope to see you sacrifice your queen when we play. ;)
My symmetry project was really fun. I enjoyed making this because its fun finding pictures everywhere. The word symmetry means equal or balanced proportions. Men and animals have symm...
