When I was a small child I had a huge collection of guns. I had always like to play 'cops and robbers". I also loved to watch movies like Robocop and Death Wish movies that featured lots of gun violence. What happens though when children grow up and want to play with real guns? I found out just how deadly guns are when I was in the second grade.
             I had always been told that real guns were dangerous while I was growing up. When I was the age of 5 I had a huge collection of toy guns. Still I was never around any real guns. Just the thought of a real gun scared me. My collection of toy guns was big and guns were always my favorite toys.
             Well at the end of my second grade year my whole idea about guns was changed. It all had to do with my cousin who lived in a rural place. Real guns were a popular item for teenagers. I was not really close to him, but I do remember visiting him many times in the summer. For reasons that I will never know he shot himself with a handgun. I realized maybe I should not be playing with guns. I learned that bullets kill people and how they can ruin lives forever.
             I learned years later that he played with toy guns when he was small. He thought having guns around was normal and forgot just how deadly they can be. This is why I disagree with the author. Children should stay away from all types of guns. When kids grow up they will learn what guns can do and how dangerous they can be.
