Death of A salesman
Throughout history, love has been known as a powerful instrument that can easily be affected in each part of a relationship. Relationships in many cases have several conditions that may be put upon them affecting it in a negative way. When material possessions become the only link keeping the relationship together one may begin to believe that love can be earned simply through money. When appearance plays a large role in a relationship one begins to think that the relationship will only be maintained as long as a young, thin appearance is as well. Also when one feels they should act a certain way in order to maintain the relationship, individuality becomes lost. However if we are not rewarded with affection and gifts simply because of material possessions love is not purely based upon money. Also if we look beyond outer beauty and appreciate our partner for their inner qualities the ties in the relationship will remain strong and true. Naturally if we are not told to act a ce!rtain way and conditions are not put upon the relationship to make our partner content, it will grow with each passing day through individuality. A common mistake that is quite often used with love is the fact that we become under the impression that in order for our significant other to appreciate us or love us as much as we want is to shower them in material possessions and give them gifts to keep the relationship going. WillyLoman never made a lot of money. 13)Even though Willy looks terribly exhausted Linda does not say that. "Willy darling, you're the handsomest man in the world. 73) When Willy discusses his financial state with Linda she is always very encouraging no matter what. Her love for her husband is very strong and she loves him for who he is and does not want him to feel belittled by anyone. Linda's love for her husband does not place conditions upon his financial state. In the play "Death of A Salesman", Linda Loman does not concern herself with her husbands outer appearance but simply cares he feels good about himself. She is aware that her husband does not make incredible income but she does not put that against him or threaten that the relationship will end if he does not give her all the things they want or even need. In many relationships people feel that their partner will no longer love them or want to be with them if they are not the exact physical image their partner wants them to be. In the play Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller Linda Loman's love for her husband Willy is unconditional and not based upon material possessions, outer appearance or earned through favors. When we are in love with someone we do not ask them to change because it is who they are that we fall in love with.
