Orson Scott Card
There are many ways to write a book, it is all in the choice of the author who is writing the book. The author can go crazy with his own books; he can choose the different characters, the different settings, and also the different plots in the story. Even though the author can have his own mind in his book, there has to be meaningful reasons for his/her decision. In Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, Mr. Card had a different style of writing that had a great impact on the story itself. The characterization that the writer chose has a lot to do with the story itself. In this book, the author didn’t have just one way of developing a character; he had many different ways to develop a character. One way was that the author told the reader about a character; he would tell the reader what the character looked like, or the kind of personality the character had. Another way was that the writer makes the reader figure out a character by what the other characters said about the character. All these conflicts makes the story a lot more interesting because the reader finds out a lot of ironies that come after the reader finishes the book. Card pulled this out well because every time a setting changed, he made it so that the reader understood fully, by detailed descriptions, the whole view of the setting. The type of characters he chose, the setting he chose, and the plot he made for the characters. The way he wrote just made me not put the book down and just made me kept reading and readi ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography** Humphries, Doug. Finally, the plot is the last main focus to a good novel. The setting also plays an important role in writing a book, without the setting there is no story at all. Here is a quote by Doug Humphries in his book review, “The first three chapters are set in North Carolina, but the majority of the story is in an ‘outer space’ type setting-towards the end of the book the setting is on an alien planet. The actual setting of this book changes during the middle of the book.
