Leadership
Leadership - according to Webster's Dictionary - is the office or position of a leader, the quality of a leader. A leader is a person who guides or directs. Does that explain what a leader is? It is my belief that anyone can be a leader, that being a leader is not just in a title. A person who takes the initiative to see that something is done, a wrong made right, an effort attempted - that is a leader. They have made sure that I have access to the right tools, that I have been pushed to succeed, in everything that I do. While those offices gave me titles, they by themselves do not make me a leader. On our school bowling team, I support excellent bowlers while improving my abilities. What makes a leader - again, it can be the person, who by definition, leads, but in my opinion, a leader is the person who takes initiative - to lead and to support others. They both have important jobs to do - the most important thing is that they show others what needs to be done. Is a leader the captain of the football team or is the leader the head of the band. Not because they are my parents, but because they have always supported what I do. The captain of the football team makes sure the other players know what they are supposed to do. Because each layer or groups of people rely on others, in my opinion, they are all leaders. The leader of the band makes sure that the band members know the song. I also participate in other activities, in support roles. Both have very important jobs, getting people together, showing them the way. This in turn gets the players pumped up.
