We hereby propose our state-of-the-art fixed wireless access (FWA) system to Megatech Telekom Limited for providing cost-effective voice, video and data services in Uyo, Eket, Ikot Ekepene, Ikot Abasi and Oron Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State. The selected LGAs are to serve as a pilot phase for the implementation of the FWA network in not only the rest of the state but also in Abia and Plateau states. A VoIP Softswitch, installed at the operator's point-of-presence, acts as the brain of the VoIP network providing the subscribers full IP telephony services and responsible for the connectivity of the VoIP network to the NITEL's PSTN. It can be used for voice services as well as for fast Internet access with the 'Always On' feature. The cells include a Breeze ACCESS OFDM base station, which provide voice and data and video services to FWA subscribers who reside within the cell coverage area. It provides 12Mbit/sec burst rate for each base station radio unit, with cell-aggregated throughput of up to 72Mbit/sec. The voice services delivered to the subscribers in two alternatives: by the BreezeACCESS subscriber unit (SU) or by an external residential gateway of 3rd party. At the final phase, additional cells will be installed in order to support the large capacity due to the increasing number of subscriber connected to the network.
