Cultural Relativism

Cultural Relativism is something I feel everyone should take into consideration. It is very true that different cultures have different moral codes. An idea, concept, or some type of action that one culture partakes on might just be the total opposite to another culture. In either case, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s wrong to do what they believe in because their knowledge on these certain situations have been passed down from the earlier people in their lives who believed in the same thing. We really don’t have any “set rules” for everything in this world, for everything and anything can mean totally different things to similar or even different people. His culture is basically just trying to survive in life by any means necessary. We can find out what it is that prohibits people from accepting something that other people do. But doing nothing about this subject will not change the ideas of other people. I mean people won’t show it, but internally most will have this funny vibe within themselves as they shake their heads in disbelief to the absurd scenario they see before them. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have it easy like any other person, but He was brought up in this culture by people older than him and taught him how to live his life according to his culture.

I have grown up in a culture where gay men were considered the “locals” of the place (or even the country for that matter). Let’s take a deeper look on how one culture take in another culture’s views as just plain wrong.
