The word 'worldview' is used to describe how one looks at all aspects of life. Its purpose is to bring all of those aspects into a single unified system. Simply, a worldview is the set of beliefs through one interprets all of reality, somewhat akin to a pair of glasses. Two contrasted worldviews examined in this report are those of Christianity and Secular Humanism, which are considered diametrically opposite to one another.
             With its roots manifested in Judaism, the Christian religion is thousands of years old. It begins with a man named Jesus, believed by his followers to be the incarnate of God and a Messiah sent by God to liberate the people. During his short life (Jesus is said to have lived only until his thirties), he is said to have performed many miracles until he was crucified by Roman authorities in occupied Palestine . Jesus then rose from the dead after three days and appeared to his followers in many cities. He instructed them to go out into the world and spread God's word to all the nations . This became known as the Gospels. This commission highlights Christianity as a missionary faith, committed to the bettering of the human race by way of spreading the 'Good News'.
             Christians believe that their God, the only true God has 3 'faces' - the Father (the creator of the world), the Son (who died to become saviour of the world) and the Holy Spirit (he who imparts faith and the impulse to lead a life pleasing to God). Central to their faith is the fact that God became incarnate, that is he assumed a human form to embrace his children on the Earth. The death of his son Jesus Christ has profound meanings for Christians, who believe his suffering and death allowed salvation for all that followed him. One of the most significant tenets of the Christian faith is to love thy neighbour , which implies that Christians are to embrace their fellow man as brothers and retain love and respect for their God also.
