Cast Away Review&Contrast
As soon as I heard the door open, and heard that phony, sugar sweet voice saying hi to everyone, I just knew, this week was going to be hell! My boyfriend's prissy, goody two-shoed, know-it-all aunt came into town, and somehow I needed to make an escape. After being ordered around in my own house, she finally suggested something I'd enjoy, a movie. She had chosen "Cast Away" which was the perfect choice considering I'd rather be stranded on a deserted island than with her. As soon as the movie started I completely absorbed myself, and soon forgot she was even in the same room....The year is 1995, and Tom Hanks plays an overworked Federal Express executive whose mantra is to do anything necessary to get a package to its destination on time. While enjoying Christmas dinner with his girlfriend and family, he is called away to Malaysia. A short time later he is airborne, flying through stormy skies over the South Pacific. Hanks and his crew loose their coordinates, and then there's and explosion which sends the plane careening into the water. Luckily he makes it ashore using an inflatable raft, after spending the night basking among the stormy waves. He awakes to the popping of his raft on
I enjoyed the movie terribly, and felt it is one of the most realistic survival adventures ever made. You end up watching a movie, and at first things are going terrific. In most movies, a good script is one of the ranking details reviewers, and audiences look at for entertainment. The water was so clear, and blue that it gave a feeling of sereneness. Hanks' character used a volleyball that he named Wilson as his only companion, who he often spoke to as if he were real. and happen, until finally it just ends. And the next time she's in town, I will have to rent several others as my temporary getaway. One of the best elements throughout "Cast Away", was the lack of talking. When the previews first came out for "Cast Away", an adventure genre (category) film (Baran; 55), I thought it was just a billion dollar "Survivor" imitation. And as for my boyfriends bitchy aunt. If I were to change this movie so that it would not appeal to me, or anyone else, I would do a number of things. Each scene had its own distinctive feeling, making each part, and movement unique. Luckily none of these downfalls occurred in "Cast Away", and I hope that if you haven't seen it, that you go out and rent it one day soon.
