Cults
Satanists, Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, and Hare Krishna are four different kinds of cults all over America. They will lie, they will beat their victims, and they will scare them into their cults. Harmful cult leaders are sending out recruiters to do and say anything necessary to get teenagers, young adults, and sometimes children involved in joining their cults, without mentioning the characteristics and beliefs of that particular kind of cult.If people were aware of the characteristics of all the cults in the world, they would be more careful about what kinds of meetings they attended or what kinds of parties they, their children, or their friends attended. Many of the cults around today, give the idea that God has "revealed" something special to them. The Mormon Church, for example, says that Christianity was in apostasy for near 18 centuries, until God "revealed" new "truth" to Joseph Smith, Jr., restoring the true gospel that had been lost. Even today, the Mormon church has its own living prophets who supposedly receive divine revelation from God, and continually bring new "truth" into the world.Another characteristic of some cultic groups is that they say one thing in public, but within their cult,
Cult recruiters are everywhere around us. It has given false prophesies, it is against the Bible, and they give out a misinterpretation of the truth. Teenagers are the major target for cult recruiters right now. Most of them do so because of stressful transitions they are going through during adolescence. Also, another feature is false prophesy. Cult recruiters roam around and try to find vulnerable victims to talk into coming to a cult meeting. The Watchtower also denies the existence of hell, as a place of everlasting punishment for the wicked. The salvation of Krishnaism must be earned by performing a series of works, unlike the Bible says that we have all sinned against Holy God and are therefore in need of a savior. The basic system of Krishnaism is believing every individual must go through a series of successive lives (reincarnation) to get rid of the debt of his own actions. So those who predicted the events, are exposed as false prophets. Cult leaders, who think they have been called by God himself, have made predictions of future events, supposedly revealed by the inspiration of God. However, their theology denies every cardinal belief of historic Christianity including the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, His bodily resurrection, salvation by grace through faith, and eternal punishment of the wicked. in His Son, Jesus Christ," (McDowell 25).
