Pre-season evaluation can tell a lot about a player’s fitness and what they are ready for. A simple fitness test that concentrates around the aspects of the individual sport can reveal what areas would need to be improves before the player can undergo a full game. The fitness test would include such things as a beep test, agility test, sprints and flexibility. Warm up and warm down is the most important aspect to ensure ones peak performance during a game. Taping is mainly used on areas that have previously been injured or that are generally weak joints. Increase reps and weight for the maximum results. Some protective equipment is worn not to protect yourself, but opponents. For example, if a baseball pitcher has the incorrect technique he could do damage to his shoulder. Rest the player, elevate the leg and apply ice to the ankle using compression. An ideal way to do this is to complete short sprints similar to those in a shuttle run, also running in sand or up hill can improve that particular system. Also long term injuries can occur when the sole of a shoe doesn’t suit the posture of the foot.
