Nervously awaiting the outcome to this horrific disaster of September 11, 2001, Americans seem reluctant to buy goods. On Wednesday, September 19th, just two days after Wall Street reopened, I read this from MSNBC News, “The Dow and the NASDAQ closed with moderate losses Tuesday, stabilizing somewhat after Monday’s sharp decline, as Wall Street remained cautious amid military uncertainty and concerns about the outlook for the economy. With unemployment inevitably expected to increase, my opportunity to secure a promising position is sure to decrease. There it was written all over the screen, “TERRORISTS HAD ATTACKED AMERICA”! At first I thought I had tuned into scenes from a movie until I turned the channel and the same view was on every station. President Bush immediately grounded all air travel in the US for two days and demanded the Federal Aviation Administration heighten its security measures before reopening to the public. ent leads, as I had routinely been doing during the previous six months, when I reached to turn the TV on. Our once thriving economy now has in place all of the ingredients to create a recession which could possibly cripple us financially. That one horrendous day in September 2001 could forever impact my professional and personal life as the economic aftermath unfolds.
